Yes, school stinks, but a state legislator wants to literally clear the educational air in Minneapolis and other Minnesota district, the AP reports.
Rep. Karen Clark, a Democrat, introduced legislation today to set up a fragrance-awareness campaign to help students suffering asthma or other health problems aggravated by colognes and perfumes. One in eight Minneapolis students has asthma, and school nurses say they have treated students for wheezing and headaches triggered by pungent classmates. Clark's crusade might be promoted through letters to parents, fact sheets, signs in schools, e-mail and Web sites.
